I’m
from Alaska State in the United States, and I came to Japan for the first time
eighteen years ago. Previously, I worked as an architectural designer and have
till now visited many different countries in Europe and Asia. From there I decided
to become a permanent resident of Japan, because I was so attracted by the grand
scale of nature in the Tsukahara area. Currently, I plan tours by myself, and
guide foreign tourists through Beppu and as far as Kunisaki peninsula by bike.
I think in the future it would be fun to conduct a tour not just for foreigners
but also for Japanese people who study English. I’m hammering out a plan for
that as we speak.
My dream is to build my own vacation
house in Tsukahara. I want to continue doing the things I like in Tsukahara and
live freely here.

I
am from New Delhi in India, and right now I am studying tourism on a graduate
level at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. I go often on trips wearing a sari,
a traditional dress of India.
This is my seventh year since
coming to Japan through my father’s work. My family loves Japan very much. On
the walls in my house we have many framed photographs that were cut directly
from calendars with Japanese landscapes in them.
I also do Indian dance, so I
go to Yufu City a lot to dance. In fact, I’ll soon be putting out my debut CD
with an enka song that’s about Yunohira hot spring in Yufuin town. In the future
I want to contribute to Beppu tourism, so I’m at a stage where I’m trying out
lots of different things. |
