| The Beppu-Oita
Mainichi Marathon was held in February. In the post-race ceremony, the governor
gave remarks, saying, “This marathon, with its long history and tradition, is
a major marathon of Japan thanks to the support from many people involved in
track and field sports, the media, volunteers and local government. Let’s all
continue to give our support to this competition.” |

Oita Trinita Visit the Governor, Kick-Off

| Commemorating
the start of the 2009 J. League soccer season scheduled for March 7th, manager
Chamusca and athletes of the Oita Trinita team visited the Oita Prefectural Government
Building and spoke with the governor about their aspirations for the coming season.
That evening, a kick-off rally hosted by Trinita sponsors was held in Oita city
with many supporters in attendance. The governor enthused, “Believe in yourself,
believe in your team, believe in your fans, and try your very best. I wish you
another successful season. Give Oita citizens another thrill.” |
